I was given a little bonus money this week out of the blue-not much but it was nice. I was told to “treat the kids with it”. My first reaction to this money was- PUT IT TOWARDS PAYING OFF THE ATTORNEY! But then I realized-that would not be right. The kids deserve it and just like we have sacrificed-they have too. Of course they don’t go without food or clothes but they get no extras-they haven’t for a while. No dinners out-no movies with the exception of seeing Batman compliments of free movie passes. Since gas prices have gone up-we go nowhere but to school-work-home. And forget about vacations. Any vacation time was cashed out instead of taken-to pay bills. My kids have been doing wonderful in school and seeing our moving around situation lately-they have adjusted well. I want to do something nice for them.
We all sat down and decided-tomorrow we are taking the drive up to Orlando for the day. We can’t afford to stay in the nice hotels even at discounts but we scored a cheap hotel in Disney for $54. At night we are going trick-or-treating in Disney World! This has always been a tradition of ours every year. Instead of gifts- we would always do the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in October and The Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party for Christmas. Last year we were lucky enough to go to the Halloween one thanks to cashing out reward points but did not enjoy it due to the nightmare short sale that was going on at home. It was a stressful time. Christmas-forget it. We were broke. We missed it.The holidays were BLAH last year. With this bonus money-the kids were given a choice and they chose to go for Halloween. Christmas is out again but that’s OK. They are so appreciative just to go for Halloween. It feels nice knowing I can take them. It will be paid for and no bill will be coming for it next month! This will be a treat for all of us for the holidays.
So you are probably thinking-is this girl nuts? Disney is expensive! Yes and no! We are going to a party after the park closes at a discount and we are Florida Residents so we get a little break here and there. I search for all kinds of deals…trust me. 
So where does this leave my BK? We just mailed our $200 monthly payment to the attorney for October. We now only owe $290. His office told us once we get it-just come in and we can proceed. We are waiting for the check for the side job we did and then we will be good to go! We will finally have the money! For now though-I am gonna go get my stuff ready for a fabulous day with the family at the Happiest Place On Earth! The weather is suppose to be nice too. A cold front is coming. I am excited. I feel like a little kid all over again!
