Time to amend that tax return

Darn it! Taxes are done-we got our refund and wouldn’t you know it we got a 1099 in the mail yesterday! It was for a project my husband did for $1400 through a real estate company last year. Honestly, with everything going on-I forgot about it. They did mail it in February but they did not send it to our correct address. It got sent to the wrong address, then somehow got sent to the last apartment and then forwarded here.  Argh! So there goes a couple hundred dollars for sure. I am not gonna file it this week-I am already having a hectic week. I have until 4/15 to amend my return. I am in no rush to give the IRS back money.

My husband got asked to work his days off as well as come in 12 hour shifts for the next week or so 8am-8pm. Of course he said yes because he is new and we need the money but it really put us in a bad position with the one car. Gosh it has been a hassle . I also worked 6 days this week but it is just to make up for Tuesday since I am taking the day off to go to court.  I just hope working all this overtime gives us some moola to buy a second car already.

Speaking of extra moola-did anyone else notice a few extra bucks on their paychecks recently? Apparently the Making Work Pay credit has gone into effect. It is definitely no bailout but a few extra dollars not going to taxes is always welcome here.
