My neck has been killing me these last few days. It is not a “pop an aspirin” type pain-it hurts really bad. I am hoping it is just the cold weather and will go away. I say cold. It is in the 50′s here in Florida. I love it but I think it is making my neck injuries act up.

Well, my husband has been training during the daytime since he started his new job but officially went on overnights last night. It is hard and will take some time to get use to-again. Everyone gets thrown off when he is not here-even the dog! We have both worked overnights for years and swore we would never do it again-we thought we paid our dues but life sure does have a way of throwing us some curve balls. I am not complaining at all. Hey-we have jobs. Which is a good thing. So many millions of Americans are without right now. I almost feel guilty.

My husband got his first paycheck this morning. It was not much but it was like “wow”-we will definitely make it now. No more worrying about making the rent or car payment (which I haven’t made yet) and not have to worry when my kids ask me for lunch money-because I will have it. It is a good feeling  just to be able to survive! It is amazing how I think now. I don’t give a crap about things I once did. Once you lose these things-you realize that was all they were… things.

Naturally being the new guy, he got thrown on the worst possible schedule. You know, work weekends and all the other days people don’t want to work but it is money and this is what we gotta do. So far we are all adjusting. I wake up an hour earlier to get everyone going, walk the dog and catch up on things and check homework. I go into work a little later but also stay later so it evens out.  The only issue we have run into is my oldest daughter and a ride to school. Since my husband does not get home in time, she is stuck with no ride. We don’t live far enough to qualify for the bus and she wont ride a bike(apparently it is not cool anymore?). I was stressed at first about it but realized-it is less than 2 miles away-she has 2 healthy legs…she can walk. Today she was lucky to get a ride from a friend-let’s see what happens tomorrow.

Other than that-I am just so happy things are starting to change for us. The bankruptcy meeting is coming up and we will start a new chapter in our lives. The good chapter :) .
