We are having some bad storms here in South Florida. Today is a nice day to stay home and actually get stuff done. We have a lot of packing to do and I have not started anything. I am just so unmotivated for this move. I think because we have moved so much these past few years-I am just tired of it. On top of it all, I know I will be busting my tail. My husband works overnight the day we are suppose to move and he is going to be a zombie. It’s going to be like doing it all myself-I can just feel it.
We have not actually seen the inside of our new apartment since someone is living in it but I seen the floor plan and peeked in one that had the windows open(come on-you do it too-lol). I will admit-it looks small;it is about 1020 square feet. Doesn’t sound too small but it looks it. It will be a challenge but we will handle it.
Luckily we have sold a lot of the big and heavy stuff through Craigslist these past few weeks. We sold one of the girls bedroom sets for $300. Our bedroom set is going to my in-laws and our kitchen table should be sold soon if not I am donating it. The new apartment does not have a dining area-just a built in kitchenette to eat on. We are still debating about our huge sectional. That I do like but I am not sure if it will fit. I will not know until we actually move in.
We also started clearing out more collectibles in our closets and listed them on Ebay. They have been sitting for weeks with no bids and then all of the sudden people are starting to buy. Ebay is weird like that. I will tell anyone that is reading that if they need to pay off debt or pay bills and need to make some quick cash-look for things to sell. Ebay and Craigslist are wonderful.
I like using Craigslist for the big stuff and Ebay for the collectibles and hard to come by stuff. People that are looking for a certain collectible pretty much can find it on Ebay and will pay what it is worth. A few things I do not like about Ebay is the whole feedback system (my feedback is 100% positive but I still don’t like how it works) and their fees can add up.
I like Craigslist because I don’t need to deal with shipping or pay any fees. The only few drawbacks are that there are a lot of scammers who will email you different little scams like cashing fraud money orders. You can tell them right away though. I also was very weary of meeting strangers that want to look at stuff or buy it but luckily for me my husband usually meets them or they offer to meet in a public place. So far we have had no problems.
The lightning is getting bad here so I am off the computer for now. I guess that is my signal to get moving…lol. Oh, you may have noticed I added a little follow me on twitter on the side of my blog here. Yup, I caved in and got a twitter account just for this blog. I am Mrs. “I am not getting into that social networking crap” but I love how I can post interesting stuff quickly in 140 characters or less! I figured I can update it whenever I get a free moment rather that wait to write a post. I want to start putting anything interesting I think someone may find helpful here…of course debt and money related only.
