With my wake-up call this morning, my husband tells me that a couple of repo guys came to his work in the middle of the night to repossess someones car. Not just anyone’s car though-one of the owners cars! This guy walks around as if he has no care in the world and no money problems. So it was a little embarrassing for my husband to make that call in the middle of the night to tell him some repo guys were there to get his “big and manly customized truck”.

So the guys left and ended up not taking the car because they could not access it where it was (on private property). This morning the owner and his wife came in and tried to “soften the blow and the ego” and told my husband and a few coworkers that it was either make payroll or pay the truck payment. Huh?

So after the owners leave-you know the employees start talking. Apparently they had trouble making payroll last week too. My husband got his paycheck late but he just thought it was late because of the holiday. So, with that said I think it wont be long before he loses his job.

With all these money problems in the company, the owners are leaving this week on a 2 week vacation. I just don’t get it. So my husband and I sat down and had our little talk. Believe it or not, I am not at all upset that he may be losing that job. It helped us catch up and put money into savings-it did what we needed it to do. But, his work now is starting to pick up again and he has been doing both. I work a lot but I work inside and I work normal hours. He works overnights which is hard enough (12 hour shifts) then he gets off and works during the day in the hot sun. I see it is wearing on him-he looks exhausted. It is amazing that just-what a year ago-he had nothing. Now he has too much work!

My work too has picked up even more and I am confident we will be fine if they close their doors at his job. My issue is-if they are having trouble keeping payroll-I really don’t want my husband to put too much work in and not get paid! I just have this feeling they will keep paying everyone until they get back from vacation and then—BAM-you’re fired.

We will see how it plays out. It was good while it lasted. That is the wonderful thing about not having debt, living within your means and having money in savings in case of an emergency. We wont be in a world of hurt-we’ll be fine financially and probably even better emotionally. As long as I have my bills paid and a happy family-I am happy. :) If this would have happened to us in the past-I would be here typing up a whole different kind of scenario.
