Well, we only have 22 creditors calling us so it is no suprise-we NEVER answer our phones…especially numbers we don’t know. Well, a phone number with the same area code as ours called me on my way to work this morning, Naturally, I didn’t answer. So, they leave a message which most don’t so I listen to it. The caller was a woman who said she was not a telemarketer, blah blah blah and it is IMPERATIVE I call her back now with this case #——-. It is regarding an investigation regarding my NAME, ADDRESS and SOCIAL? (HUH?) My client is filing a complaint against you. (WHAT?) So I am thinking…what in the world? Obviously it is not a creditor. It must be a mistake. Maybe something got screwed up with the house when we closed—maybe they screwed up the paperwork or something. I had a million bad scenarios running through my head!
So I can’t take the pressure anymore so I call. Sure crap it is a collection office (not an attorney)here in South Fla regarding my Citibank account. They are planning to file a lawsuit but wanted to see if I wanted to talk first. Uh, yeah. I don’t think so. The woman was nice but I told her I am considering BK and that I would be in touch. She said she will relay the message to Citbank’s attorney’s. Great. What a way to start the week! It has been less than 5 months-they move quick!
On another note, I decided not to pursue that job. They emailed me the hours and more info and it is from 7:30 am until 5pm with mandatory overtime. Nah, no more of that. I love extra money and have no problem with overtime but I don’t want to be in the same boat as now. I will be miserable. At least now I am focused on finding something closer to home. I updated my resume and it felt odd. I haven’t done that in years!
The apartment was rented too. Oh well. Things happen for a reason. Maybe an even cheaper one will come along.
