Wonderful news…finally! The 2000 Toyota that my father-in-law was trying to get a mechanics lien on is now ours! We got the call earlier that all the paperwork was completed and he has the title in his possession! All we need to do is transfer the title to our name, fix a few minor things and give it a tune up and a nice wash. Other than that, we should be good to go.
I honestly did not talk about that car too much because I really did not think we were going to get it. I thought the idea was crazy but my father-in-law came through and I am sooo happy. The total cost of the car for us-a whopping $300 for the paperwork! Not bad considering the car is worth a whole lot more!
The Honda Accord, well, I took it to work and made it halfway then it started acting up. My husband ended up meeting up with me and swapping cars. He rather take the car and get stuck in it than have me get stranded in rush hour traffic far away from home. Luckily we did swap cars because minutes later, the car broke down. Unfortunately he still had my little one with him so she ended up missing school. She was happy though-besides, she didn’t miss much. It is party time for the kids-the summer is almost here! lol
So he found the problems and fixed them all. Minor things and a hose that gave him a hard time but everything is fixed and the car should have zero problems now. He is not too happy with his friend that sold us the car seeing that he is a mechanic and should have seen some of this stuff. However, he knows better. Look at our friend the Realtor who screwed us up with our house that ended up being our short sale nightmare. I always say, don’t mix business with friendship or money with friendship…however the saying goes. You know what I mean.
Since this 2000 car came through, I wanted to call Honda and tell them to pick the Civic up so we can be totally 100% debt free with no car payments. My husband however wants to sell the Accord. He thinks in the long run keeping the Civic is the way to go. I am not going to argue about it because I am not the one under the hood fixing that Accord everyday or sitting on the side of the road with it. So we will sell the Accord and transfer the tag to the 2000. Hopefully it will sell soon so we can do it that way.
So there’s my joy for the day! I like when good things happen. I have had a rough week at work-really rough and this just made me forget all about it…well until I just wrote about it. I’ll stop now because that crap will not spoil my good news!
