First of all, I want to say a Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms who read this! I am having a nice quiet day at home but want to take today to catch up on a few things I never seem to have enough time for-like update here and clear out my inbox! I got some nice flowers and my favorite coffee for Mothers Day. My youngest made me a beautiful scrapbook in school and it was just the best. It made me very happy.  My husband worked overnight so you can just imagine what he is doing while I write this…lol.

I have a few updates:

My bankruptcy: No discharge paper yet and no reaffirmation paperwork yet from Honda. I was told I would receive them but haven’t. I will give it one more week and if not, I will give them a call.

My husband and I both got letters from an attorney notifying us that we have been identified as a class member in a lawsuit. It is dealing with one of the nightmare collection agencies that were calling us. Apparently they were breaking the law with some of their tactics and I am happy to see someone took a stand against them. We had a few accounts that this collection agency was handling and they were violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act-big time. If the litigation is successful, we could get some compensation. I think it is like 1% or something. It is not about the money though. I am just happy that they got caught and maybe will not be so bad with their collection efforts in the future.

The cars: Still no word on the 2000 Toyota. The Honda we bought has been parked for the past couple of weeks. Yup-parked. We paid the last $500 off and we owe no more on it BUT it has problems. I don’t think it is anything major but we need to fix it before I start driving it again. Yes, our friend said he would take care of it BUT it has been a problem schedule-wise with getting him to look at the car. My husband also has been working 24/7 and hasn’t had a chance to work on it. You can’t work on your car in our complex so he needs to drive it to my in-laws to work on it. Maybe next week.***This is one of the joys of buying an older used car. We bought it from a friend too. It is not his fault-things happen and he could not have known. If I would have bought this car from a stranger, I probably would have had my doubts.***

Work: Ha-I am still there and well, it is what it is. My husband though got screwed. They have changed his hours to 12 hour shifts without even asking him. Actually, they changed a few employees around like that to accommodate a family member that was coming in to work there…nice. The good thing is, it is overtime BUT I think it was very unprofessional and inconsiderate. You are dealing with peoples lives when you change their schedules like that. It’s money right now so we can’t complain.

His work he did on his own completely stopped. He hasn’t gotten an order in over 2 months! That is crazy! So imagine if we were waiting for his work and he did not have this job, we would really be behind. This job he has though is definitely not long term. I am hoping once the economy turns around and the housing market bounces back-he will have more work. Then maybe, just maybe he can be home at night and not deal with whacked out schedules and coughing all the time!

Our moving situation: We are packing little by little and decided most of our furniture is going to have to go. It is too big and honestly, can’t take another move down 2 flights of stairs and up 3 more. So it is listed on Craigslist and we will downsize from there. We have way too much furniture and it is too bulky-we just don’t want or need it anymore. Whatever we do not sell, I will donate. And NO, we will not waste money buying more. We only need the basics right now.

Other than that, everything seems to be smooth sailing. I feel like we are moving up in our lives and getting a lot accomplished. Now I am off to get even more done.

Enjoy your Mother’s Day and if you are not a mom-call yours and wish her one!

So glad you had a good Mother’s Day. Relqxing is good!!

Funny you say that about the furniture – very true you only need the basics. You would be surprised what you can do without. I know first hand! lol

Glad things are getting a bit better for you and thanks for the update!
